trade

BREAKING NEWS:

J.J. Hardy was traded today to the Minnesota Twins for Carlos Gomez. WOW. I never saw that coming here in Brewtown. Oh, well. At least we get a speedy potential Gold Glover in Gomez. Also, it resolves our infielder problem. We had Felipe Lopez, J.J. Hardy, Alcides Escobar, Craig Counsell, Rickie Weeks, and Casey McGehee. We knew that one had to go, and I suspected Lopez. It will be hard to see JJ in another uniform, but we are better off, and he is better off. Plus, JJ will be excited to play in a BRAND NEW stadium. Good-bye JJ, and have a great career, and maybe our paths will cross again someday (hope so!).

Hitting Coach....Advantage or not??

Mark McGwire, one of the greatest sluggers of all time, and once had 70 homers in one year, has now become the St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach. I am not quite sure if that will be good or not. Well, he was a great home run hitter, and Albert Pujols will be even greater with him there (If that is even possible), but on the other hand, great players rarely make great coaches. Look at Bart Starr, he was a great Packers QB in the 60's, but when he was a coach, he was simply terrible! So, it could go either way. I think it will be sort of a downgrade because he was a .263 lifetime hitter..........not very good. Also, he struck out 1596 times, including 159 times in 1997. So, again, it could go either way. What do you think?

game 6 postponed

Special News Bulliton:

Game 6 of the ALCS was postponed for Sunday, while Game 7 will still be on Monday. At this point, I think the Angels could make the World Series, but it will have to be a combo of great pitching, especially relief pitching, and an offense who gets the hits when they need them. Chone Figgins, and Torii Hunter are capable of doing just that. Also, I have been VERY sick lately. I have a cold, at least I am sure. I missed school on Friday, but not because of my sickness, I had a doctor's appointment, and an eye exam. I may need new glasses next week. My nose is stuffy, my arm aches from the flu shot, and I sometimes get chills. I would not be suprised if I missed Monday, even though I hope not. Anyway, back to baseball:

Through this offseason, I will start a segment called "Fave 5". I will name a list of the top 5 players of all time, active players, pitchers, catchers, etc. So, without further delay, here is the first "Fave 5". This week, it is my top 5 pitchers of all-time, and you all may be suprised who is on top. Comment if you have a problem with the Ranks:

Top 5 pitchers of all time:

1. Nolan Ryan

2. Cy Young

3. Randy Johnson

4. Trevor Hoffman

5. Roger Clemens

One-More-Month!!!

Only one more month, and an important day will occur. On November 17th, I will turn 14! Wooooooo-Hooooooo! I already have a cell phone. My mom says it is an "early b-day present". I will not reveal my number unless you request. If you do request, you would have to email me at brantnerdan@yahoo.com. Also, back to the birthday, I share a birthday with an idol of mine.....

......Ryan Braun!

Yes, his birthday is November 17th, 1983, while mibne is November 17th, 1995. A 12 year split. So, when I was born, he was just a bit younger than me now, Cool! Also, back to baseball. The Red Sox were swept by the Angels. The thing that pulled the Red Sox to "the bottom of the ocean" was the pitching. Many injuries. Wakefield, Dice-K was a bit hurt. They need a good catcher if V-Market does not come back. I dont want Varitek starting. His hitting is worth crap! Sorry if I offend any sox fan (Julia), but Varitek is done with. I just hope the Brewers can improve over the off-season. Rumor has it that Brandon Webb does not want to be back with the Diamondbacks. Sweet. He has always been my favorite pitcher. Hey Webby, come to Milwaukee, great summer weather, great ballpark, and we REALLY need a high-caliber starter here in Brewtown. Bran-don-Webb!!  Bran-don Webb!! One more thing to add, if I do tell you my cell phone number as mention earlier, ONLY TEXT, dont call me.

cool

I just found a cool page for the Brewers on the team grades (Offense, Defense, Pitching, etc). I will send a link at the end, but These are the grades:

Offense: B-

Defense: C

Starting Pitching: D-

Relief Pitching: B-

Bench: D+

Manager/Coaches: C-

Front Office/Ownership: C

Overall: C

I would give the Starting Pitching a D+ because Braden Looper was our best pitcher, with 14 wins, and only 6 losses. The Offense....A+!!! We had many runs throughout the year, many of the runs homers. The offense kept us at nearly at .500. By the way, The Cardinals were swept by the Dodgers. WOW! I never saw that coming. Think of this, the Cards lost their last 6 games. We swept them in Busch, including an extra inning thriller lead by a two homer game for Prince Fielder, and the Dodgers now swept them. I think they rolled over and played dead. EMBARASSING! Speaking of playoffs, the Yankees beat the Twins in 11 innings off of a walk-off homer by Mark Teixeira. Even though I, and Julia, and many others are Red Sox fans, c'mon, you gotta admit......It was exciting!!!

TWINS WIN!!!!!! TWINS WIN!!!!!!

Playoff bound!!!!!!

I watched it, and the Twins won 6-5 in 12 INNINGS!!  I REALLY hope they beat the Yankees, and Julia may agree with that, even though she does not like the Twinkies. I think you all know why.

I hope they can rain on the Yankee spankees' parade in the Big Apple!!!

WOW, what a game though. Also, I GET TO WATCH MOST OF THE GAMES THIS WEEK!!

Our school has thursday, friday, and next monday off. Sweet!! I am really hoping the Red Sox can get passed the Angels, despite the shaggy pitching. Other than Lester and Bekkett, they are good. Prediction. Pedroia is the World Series M-V-P!!! Joe Mauer is the AL mvp of the year, and PRINCE FIELDER is the mvp for the NL!!!!! Prince is underrated. I am not saying that because he is my favorite player. Even if I absolutley hated the brewers, and prince (In which I dont), I would still say prince is MVP. Seriosly, I am not lying. THANK THE ALL MIGHTY LORD WE HAVE HELLS BELLS BACK (hoffman)!!!!!

One day after the most deppressing day of my life, it is the best day of my life!

Yes!!! Today, the Brewers re-sign Trevor Hoffman to a one year contract for 8 mil. a year, and a player option for 2011. SWEET!! Also, Ken Macha has agreed to his option for 2010 and will manage us again! This year isnt Macha's fault, it is mainly because we have not been stealing enough, and the pitching. We need to get rid of Seth McGlung. He Sucks!! He gives up too many runs, and a lot of hits. We need a good reliever to work early, and can be a backup starter in case anybody is hurt. Also, the big pivotal game starts tonight. Green Bay and Minnesota will play tonight on ESPN. GO PACKERS!!!!! I am of course routoing for my Packers, and "Pootie Tang". That is Mick Barnett's nickname. They call him that because he once wore a fake afro, and thick glasses to a preseason game. He did not play. Also, I would like to thank Julia (http://werbiefitz.mlblogs.com/) for handing me my 100th comment yesterday. Thank You! I appreciate it. Sorry if I rushed this entrie, I am in a hurry to watch the Packers knock Fav-rey on his big...........fat...........but!!!!! This game will be Krazy!!!

Where did it go?

Oh, wow. Where did the season go? It still seems like early August. I am depressed today with the end of the Brewers season, but next year, the Brewers may get something going. In 2010, it will be the 40th anniversery of the Franchise in Milwaukee. This off-season, I hope we can get Brandon Webb here. THAT WOULD BE SO AWSOME!!!!! Yeah, sure, he has been injured all year, but he says he wants to test free agency. Just look at Braden Looper, many people thought he would be bad for us, but he is now 14-7 with us. We should also get Trevor Hoffman back. If we do, ooooooooooo WE WILL WITNESS HISTORY!! He only needs 9 more saves, AND HE GETS NUMBER 600!!!!! Miller Park would go NUTS!!!! Hoffman said earlier in an interview that he loves Milwaukee and he wants to be back. This season he is 2-2 with a 1.70 ERA, and 37 saves in 39 chances, and has appeared in 55 games!! So........ARE THOSE STATS GOOD!!!!

cool

Sorry I have not written much lately, I have been busy. I went to our homecoming game last night. Our Durand Panthers took on the Baldwin-Woodville Blakhawks. We lost though, 28-22. I was actually on TV for a brief second. The local news station out of Eau Claire was showing a long touchdown run, and I was in the back talking to one of my friends, Brandon. I recognized me because I was wearing a black hoodie. Cool!  Also, at 3 o' clock our time, the ol' Red Sox take on the Yankees on FOX. I cannot wait for that to start. The Brewers won again last night, 8-4, with Trevor Hoffman getting his 36th save. I hope he gets 40 for the year (saves). Also, back to the Sox, Jon Lester was hit by a line drive to the thigh last night. I saw it, and I cringed when it occured. I hope Lester is going to be ok. Also, one more story.

The Minnesota Twins begin their final series at the Metrodome against the Royals. They won the first game last night. They are 2 games back. My prediction:

The Twins will win the AL Central!!!!!

Go TWINKIES!!!!! A SWEET WIN!!!!

The Brewers are in their final series at home for the season against the Phillies. Go BREWERS!!!  The Twins had some great moments in the Metrodome.

What a day (Good and Bad)

It was sort of the Krazy day. I will start with the bad news to get it off my chest.

Tha Packers lost a stunner to the Bengals 31-24. At the end of the game, the broadcaster said the loss for the Pack was a "thud". (This is funny) Then, I farted a loud one, and said "There's your thud!!" HA! At least we are getting on a huge run now. The Brewers won AGAIN today 6-0 over the Astros. Yovani Gallardo got his 13th win, and this will be his last start of the year. It was Macha's choice, he said he didnt want to have an injury of his young arm. So he finishes with a 13-11 recoord with a 3.73 ERA and 204 strikeouts, third in the NL. A few of those losses should be wins, because he has been getting low run support. He could have 15, 16, maybe even 17 wins. Last night was a historic night.

Prince Fielder got his 127th RBI, which sets the franchise record for the most RBI's in one season, passing Cecil Cooper. Coincidentally, it was against Cooper's club. Coop is the Houston mamager, and he set the record against him last night. Also, today, Prince hit his 40th Dagger of the year with a solo shot. Also, he also set the franchise record for most walks, as he now has 100, passing also Cecil Cooper. So, do these numebrs seem MVP like?

.299 AVG   40 HR   128 RBI   101 BB   2 SB   94 R   593 SLG.   413 OBP   1.006 OPS.

I think they are.
